✨ Psst... The Cozy Life Retreat starts April 8. It’s free, gentle, and designed for anyone feeling a little over everything. All subscribers—free, paid, and founding members—are welcome. No need to pack a bag. Just bring yourself.
You know what’s funny? The more we try to do, the less we actually get done.
I mean, think about it—when was the last time you rushed through your to-do list at lightning speed and felt deeply accomplished at the end of the day? Not just “I got a lot done” but I moved the needle on things that actually matter to me.
If you’re anything like me, your “productive” days probably look something like this:
Wake up determined to crush the day.
Overcommit to 12+ tasks.
Work on all of them at the same time.
Completely forget to eat lunch.
End the day exhausted, still feeling behind, and somehow forgetting what you even accomplished.
I spent years thinking productivity was about doing more, checking more boxes, and pushing through exhaustion like a champ. And let me tell you, all it got me was burnout, decision fatigue, and an alarming caffeine addiction.
But then I learned something that completely changed how I work and live:
Slowing down actually makes you more productive.
When you think about it, nature is the ultimate example of slow productivity.
Everything happens in its own time—seasons shift, flowers bloom, rivers carve out canyons—not because they’re rushing, but because they’re moving with their natural rhythm.
Or as Lao Tzu put it:
“Nature does not hurry, yet everything is accomplished.”
Yet, somehow, we’ve convinced ourselves that we need to rush, hustle, and push harder just to keep up.
Which brings me to this:
The Myth of Doing More = Being More
We’ve been sold the idea that hustle equals success. That if we’re not busy every second of the day, we’re somehow falling behind.
But let’s break this down:
The best ideas don’t come when you’re rushing—they come in stillness (or in the shower or a walk, like me.)
Your energy isn’t endless, no matter how much coffee you drink. And talking about coffee, it may be the culprit to your anxiety issues (more to come on that topic in the future!)
Rushing through tasks doesn’t make them meaningful—it just makes them done.
Slowing down doesn’t mean stopping. It means working with your energy instead of against it.
When you slow down, you:
✔ Make better decisions (instead of reacting in panic mode).
✔ Focus on what actually matters (instead of everything at once).
✔ Have energy left at the end of the day (a radical concept, I know).
And here’s the best part: You still get things done. But in a way that feels intentional, sustainable, and… dare I say… enjoyable?
But What About My Never-Ending To-Do List?!?
Ah, the to-do list. That sneaky little thing that never actually ends (seriously, why does it regenerate overnight like some kind of productivity hydra?)
Here’s the truth: Not everything on your list is urgent.
Some things can wait. Some things don’t actually need to be done at all.
Instead of treating your to-do list like a life-or-death mission, try this:
Start with 3 priorities. That’s it. Not 12. Just three things that actually matter (or even 1, because some days call for just one thing.)
Take intentional breaks. Your brain isn’t a machine—it works better when you give it space to breathe.
End the day before you’re running on empty. You are not a phone battery that has to hit 1% before recharging.
And if the idea of slowing down makes you nervous, don’t worry—I’ve got something for you.
Introducing The Cozy Life Retreat – A Free 3-Day Reset
If you’re reading this and thinking, “Okay, this sounds nice, but how do I actually slow down without feeling guilty?”—I’ve got you.
That’s exactly why I created The Cozy Life Retreat, a free, 3-day experience designed to help you reset, breathe, and create space for what actually matters.
📆 It’s happening Tuesday, April 8 - Thursday, April 10.
Day 1: What’s Keeping You Stuck?
→ Why we default to busyness & how to release the guilt of slowing down.
Day 2: Embracing Simplicity & Small Shifts
→ Tangible ways to create white space in your life without overhauling everything.
Day 3: Redefining Success & Joy
→ Reframing productivity, prioritizing what truly matters, and designing a fulfilling life.
Each day, you’ll get:
🎧 A short audio session (because I know you don’t need another long thing on your list).
📝 A gentle journal prompt (no pressure, just space to reflect).
🌿 An optional guided meditation (perfect for anyone who’s ever tried meditating and immediately started thinking about snacks).
It’s free. It’s simple. It’s your invitation to reset.
Remember, You Don’t Have to Earn Your Rest
Slowing down isn’t lazy. It’s intentional.
You don’t have to burn yourself out to deserve a break. You don’t have to do more to be worthy of rest.
You just need to decide that you’re ready to work and live differently.
And if that sounds like something you want, I’d love for you to join me in The Cozy Life Retreat. Because running on fumes is not a personality trait.
P.S. Just a heads-up—my pricing is going up next week. If you've been thinking about joining but keep putting it off (no judgment, I do it too), now’s the time to get in at the current rate before it rises on April 7th.
This space is filled with thoughtful, kind-hearted humans who are craving less chaos and more intention—just like you. And honestly? It’s a cozy little corner of the internet I think you’ll love being part of.
So if you’ve been on the fence, consider this your gentle nudge (not a shove, I don’t do shoving).
You in?
