Somewhere between all the sourdough pretzel rolls I made for the kids, the holiday cheer that turned into holiday pours, and the general life-ing of the past year… I outgrew my clothes.
Not in a dramatic, overnight kind of way. More like a slow creep. One day I pulled on a pair of jeans and thought, “Hmm, weird, did these shrink?” (They did not.) Then I reached for a favorite tee and realized it was suddenly…fitted? (Also no.) It finally hit me—I’ve been squeezing myself into clothes that fit a past version of me, hoping maybe they’d magically fit again if I just tried harder.
But you know what? I’m turning 50 this year. I’m deep in perimenopause. And I’m kind of done making my body the problem.
So—I bought myself a new wardrobe. Just everyday pieces that feel good on this version of me, right now. Not aspirational clothes. Not “maybe one day” clothes. Just things that actually fit and don’t leave me gasping for air halfway through the day.
In my latest vlog, I unbox my new finds, share a few outfits I’ve been living in lately, and show a peek into what life has looked like recently—
a family outing to the vintage arcade
a solo hike that reminded me I still love moving my body, especially when no one’s asking for snacks
a cozy art class where I got to be creative just for fun
a road trip to the hills with the fam
and a lot of slow, gentle days in between
I’m calling it my real life reset. Not because I have it all together now 🙄, but because I’m learning to meet myself where I am—with a little more grace and a lot more elastic waistbands and stretchy sweatpants jeans (they are a thing, and THEY ARE THE BEST!)
If you’ve ever outgrown your clothes (literally or metaphorically) and decided to stop fighting it, this one’s for you. Let’s stop waiting to feel “ready” and start dressing for the life we actually have.
Also…stretchy pants forever. Just sayin’.
P.S. Just a heads-up—my pricing is going up next month. If you've been thinking about joining but keep putting it off (no judgment, I do it too), now’s the time to get in at the current rate before it rises on April 7th.
This space is filled with thoughtful, kind-hearted humans who are craving less chaos and more intention—just like you. And honestly? It’s a cozy little corner of the internet I think you’ll love being part of.
So if you’ve been on the fence, consider this your gentle nudge (not a shove, I don’t do shoving).
You in?
Love love love this post!
