Sometimes I forget I’m about to turn 50. Not because I’m in denial (though I do question the math now and then), but because I still feel like I’m in my thirties… until I try to sit cross-legged for more than five minutes or catch a glimpse of myself in harsh lighting 😱. Then I remember—ah yes, this face has seen things. Laughed hard, cried harder, spent summers without sunscreen, had babies, lost sleep, and lived a whole lot of life.
And I’m not trying to reverse time. I just want to care for the skin I’m in with the same intention I bring to other parts of my life.
Lately, that care has looked like this:
BBL (Broadband Light) treatments a few times a year,
A little K-beauty indulgence (shoutout to Olive Young for feeding my skincare curiosity),
A consistent, gentle skincare routine—morning and night,
And on the rare day I put on makeup? It’s minimal and mostly for fun.
I filmed a video sharing the whole shebang—what I use, how I use it, and what I don’t bother with anymore. Because somewhere along the way, I realized I don’t want a 14-step routine or a drawer full of products that make big promises and deliver little results. I want simplicity. I want what works for me.
It's not a tutorial or a transformation. Just an honest peek at how I’m showing up for myself in this season of life—with fewer filters, more moisturizer, and a growing sense of peace.
If you’re navigating aging skin too, know this: your skin doesn’t need to be “fixed.” It just wants to be loved.
With a full heart (and a full bottle of essence). X
